Katya (Alexandra Pfeifer) ist eine junge talentierte und unerfahrene Ballerina. Sie steht kurz vor einem begehrten Stipendium für die New York Ballet Academy. Nach dem Tod ihrer Mutter hatte sie eine enge Beziehung zu ihrem Vater Victor (Tristan Pütter), der selbst ein berühmter Ballettstar ist. Katyas Welt stürzt ab, als Victor einen Unfall hat und er gezwungen ist, seine Karriere aufzugeben. Victor legt mehr denn je großen Wert darauf, dass seine Tochter eine gute Ausbildung als Ballerina erhält, um die Familientradition fortzusetzen. New York steht für ihr großes gemeinsames Ziel. Eines Tages trifft Katya eine Gruppe junger Breakdancer und ist fasziniert von dieser Welt, in der es anscheinend keine Regeln oder Schwerkraft gibt. Sie trifft Marlon (Yalany Marschner), der ihr ein paar Schritte zeigt. Es dauerte nicht lange, bis die beiden Tänzer näher kamen. Mit der Ballerina erlebt Marlon zum ersten Mal ein Gemeinschaftsgefühl. Katya wiederum findet in Marlon nicht nur neue Freiheit, sondern auch ihren eigenen Breakdance-Stil. Aber die neu entdeckte Liebe und Lebensweise widersprechen den Plänen von Victors Vater.
