Hazrat-e Imam Khomeini was born in Khomein City on
20 Jamadi-al-sani A.H. (30 Shahrivar 1281, 24th September
1902) to a religious family, coincides with the anniversary of
the auspicious birth of Hazrat-e Zahra (S.A.). He was the heir
of ancestors who had endeavored in gaining the Islamic
knowledge and people’s guidance. Imam Khomeini’s great
father “Late Ayatollah Seyyed Mustafa Musavi” returned to
Iran after gaining Jurisprudence degree in Najaf. He was the
leader of people in religious affairs in Khomein. When Imam
was just 5 months, enemies martyred his father. Therefore
Imam Khomeini became familiar with the suffering of
orphanhood and martyrdom meaning from childhood period.
He learned preliminary and seminary sciences with great Ulama.
Then he went to Arak Seminary in order to complete his seminary
education in 1298. After that he went to Qom Seminary for
learning seminary sciences simultaneous with the immigration of
Qom Seminary’s founder “Late Ayatollah Ha’ery”. By Imam’s
and some jurisprudents’ endeavors, Ayatollah-ol-uzma Broujerdi
(Rz) was elected as Qom Seminary leader. In spite of spread
support of the learned and Islamic society as a source of imitation,
Imam Khomeini severely avoided any action for opportunism and
gaining position, after the death of Ayatollah Broujerdi.
